St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem touched base with people and businesses today in Kentucky and Indiana and learned inflation was top of mind and they saw the labor market as balanced and stable.

President Musalem visited Louisville, Ky., and Jeffersonville and Charlestown, Ind. He toured River Ridge Commerce Center, met with leaders of an excavating company, participated in a roundtable discussion with business leaders from across Kentucky and Southern Indiana, and visited Goodwill Kentucky's West Louisville Opportunity Center.

These discussions help the Bank maintain a real time understanding of conditions across the Eighth District.

St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem recently visited St. Charles Community College's Regional Workforce Innovation Center in Wentzville, Mo. He learned how the college trains its students and introduces younger K-12 students to future career possibilities. The tour highlighted the center’s interactive, industry-aligned training in areas including skilled trades, robotics and health care, as well as K-12 outreach through the soon-to-open Discovery Lab.

Visits like these maintain the St. Louis Fed’s real-time understanding of economic conditions in our District.
