Eric hit on something in this review that I wish more people understood about insurance.

The goal should never be to find the cheapest policy. The goal is to understand what you’re buying, make sure it protects you properly, and then make sure you’re paying a competitive price for it.

That’s how I’ve always approached this business.

I want my clients to understand the finer points of their coverage. Why we chose a certain policy. Why one endorsement matters. Where I see an exposure. Why I might recommend spending a little more here or changing something there.

Eric recently left this review:

“Chris is fantastic to work with. He’s knowledgeable, professional, and responsive - all great traits in an Insurance Agent / Broker. He has educated me on some of the finer points of P&C insurance and I am confident that the policies I have purchased are best in class and competitively priced.”

Eric, thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to write this.

“Best in class and competitively priced” is exactly what we’re trying to accomplish.

Protection first. Then we figure out who can provide that protection for the least amount of money. Never the other way around.

The more successful you become, the easier it is for your insurance to become a junk drawer.

I see it all the time.

The house was insured years ago with one company. A few cars were added along the way. Then came the rental property, the LLC, the trust, the business, maybe a collection or a few higher-end vehicles.

Before long, four or five different people have touched the insurance and nobody has ever sat down to look at the entire picture.

That's where the holes start showing up.

We find homes with Named Peril coverage when they should have broader protection. Trusts and LLCs that were never properly added to policies. High-end vehicles without Agreed Value. Jewelry and collections that aren't scheduled. Liability limits that haven't kept pace with the assets they're supposed to protect.

Individually, each policy might look fine. It's what happens between those policies that concerns me.

That's the low-hanging fruit an attorney is going to look for if something goes wrong.

If you've built a successful business, accumulated properties or simply have more to protect today than you did five or ten years ago, your insurance deserves more than being thrown into the junk drawer and renewed every year.

Let us review the whole picture.

We're offering a complimentary Insurance Engineering Review to identify gaps, overlaps and exposures across your personal and business insurance.

You may find out everything is structured exactly as it should be.

And if it isn't, I'd rather you find out sitting across the table from me than from an attorney after a claim.

You work hard to build a life for yourself.

A better home. Nice cars. Investments. Maybe a few things you’ve always wanted.

But as your life changes, your insurance has to change with it.

I see successful families every day who are still carrying the same limits they had years ago, or worse, liability limits we wouldn’t recommend for a 16-year-old driver.

Meanwhile, they have significantly more income, assets, and exposure to protect.

That doesn’t make sense.

Your insurance shouldn’t be based on what everyone else carries. It should be built around your lifestyle, your assets, and what you’ve worked to build.

If it’s been a while since someone actually looked at the entire picture, let’s take a look.

Most people think they're shopping for insurance.

The reality?

The insurance company is shopping for you.

Before a carrier ever offers a quote, they're evaluating things like:

• your claim history

• your insurance score

• your driving record

• your property

• your location

• the coverages you choose

Your premium isn't determined by one thing.

It's the result of an underwriting formula designed to predict risk.

The more you understand how carriers think, the better decisions you'll make, not just about price, but about who you choose to insure what you've worked so hard to build.

Can I give you one piece of advice if you've built any amount of wealth?

Build a team.

A financial advisor helps you grow it.

A CPA helps you keep more of it.

An estate attorney makes sure it goes where you want it to go.

But here's the one that gets overlooked...

Your insurance has to tie all of it together.

I've seen families spend thousands of dollars creating trusts, only to find out the trust was never added to the insurance policies.

That sounds like a small detail.

It isn't.

If something happens, that oversight can create delays, unnecessary headaches, and in some situations force assets to be liquidated to cover something the insurance should have handled.

That's why I tell people insurance isn't a standalone purchase.

It's part of your financial plan.

If you have a trust, an estate plan, multiple properties, a business, or you've simply accumulated assets over the years, it's worth having someone review how everything works together.

Not just whether you have coverage...

Whether your entire plan is actually connected.

If you'd like a second set of eyes, we're happy to provide a complimentary Insurance Engineering Review.

Most homeowners don't realize they're underinsured...

Until they file a claim.

Recent reports continue to show the same pattern: millions of homeowners don't have enough coverage to rebuild their homes if disaster strikes.

The problem usually isn't that an insurance company refused to pay.

It's that the policy was never designed to cover what the homeowner actually needed.

Your policy should be reviewed every year, not just renewed.

If it's been a while since someone looked at your coverage, let's change that.

Out of all the hundreds of insurance companies out there vying for your attention... how do you choose the right one?

Let's get into it.

Most business owners spend thousands of dollars setting up an LLC to protect themselves...

Then never update their personal insurance.

That's where the problem starts.

Your business may have liability protection.

You personally still have exposure.

If you're driving a personal vehicle, own a home, or have assets outside your business, your personal insurance should be structured differently than someone who doesn't own a business.

Your liability limits should be reviewed.

Your endorsements should be reviewed.

And in many cases, you should have both a personal umbrella and a commercial umbrella working together.

Owning a business changes more than your taxes.

It changes your risk.

I had this conversation three times last week week.

"My roof is only 12 years old."

I know.

Five years ago that wasn't a big deal.

Today, for a lot of insurance companies, it is.

That's how fast this industry is changing.

Replacement Cost rules are changing.

Deductibles are changing.

Roof eligibility is changing.

It's why I tell people not to buy insurance and stick it in a drawer for ten years.

The policy is changing.

The market is changing.

Your home is changing.

Your insurance strategy probably should too.
