Hello, everyone! As independent insurance agents, we’ve handled numerous roof claims. Recently, we had the opportunity to put our own knowledge to the test when my roof faced the challenge of a heavy rainstorm! 🌧️💨

At first, I pondered the idea of hiring a professional, but then I thought, "Why not tackle this roof repair myself?" After all, I've seen countless claims over the years, right? And y'all know my dad. I'm happy to report that my DIY approach paid off beautifully. 📚💡

Of course, not every repair is a DIY project, and we always recommend consulting with professionals when in doubt. But in this situation, it turned out to be a great decision! 🏠🛠️

So, what's my advice? Trust your judgment and skills if you feel confident, but never hesitate to seek professional help. Roof repairs are essential to protect your home, and ensuring they are done right is the key! 😉🏠

Also note that many insurance companies I represent provide discounts for roofs, whether it be the age of the roof going down to brand new or the type of shingles you put back onto your roof. In my case, I opted for hail-resistant metal shingles. Changing your roof to something more resistant to the midwestern weather can be very easy, and sometimes, it can cost less than traditional shingles. Keep your options open and ask your agent what will benefit your home and policy the most.

It was a great event can't wait till next year's 200th anniversary.

And just like that-it's over. Clayville was blessed by great weather, great music, great musicians, and some of the best history tellers in the Midwest. And we did it for the families and kids to enjoy and learn a little history.

A truly heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event possible and joined us this weekend.
Next year is our 200-year anniversary, and hope to see you September 21st and 22nd 2024.
