Castle Bail Bonds quickly captures fugitive from Sidney, Ohio in Hawaii

Keley Jones, a local bail bonds agent with over 15 years of experience with Castle Bail Bonds, recently posted a surety bond for James Baldwin in Sidney Municipal Court, in Sidney Ohio. James Baldwin, 47, of Sidney, was charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of an officer, a third-degree felony, assault, a fourth-degree felony. Baldwin jumped bail and fled to Hawaii (approximately 4,448 miles from Ohio). Thankfully, Shelby County had a bail bond company involved with the bond. Many surrounding area courts assign ten percent and O.R. bonds that lack accountability and do not involve members of the bail bond industry.

Keley Jones was informed that Baldwin had fled to Hawaii on November 20th. Jones immediately began the process of locating the fugitive. Baldwin fled to Kokua, Hawaii, a small chain of islands in the Pacific. Upon learning of Baldwins’ location, Castle Bail Bonds had to maneuver within the Covid-19 restrictions and used a network of National Surety Bail Bond Agents for assistance in the apprehension of Baldwin. Fast communication between Ohio Surety Bail Agent Gina Powell and Hawaii Surety Bail Bond Agent Leland Chapman was key in the quick capture of Baldwin. The Kokua police force was instrumental in bringing Baldwin into custody with assistance from Leland Chapman.
