Were you a tenant of Dizmang Properties back in 2007 during the legendary ice storm that knocked out power for 10+ days? If you remember it, you still talk about it. If you donât, trust us, it was a character-builder.
That storm helped shape many of the winter weather policies we still use today. With another round of winter fun headed our way this weekend, hereâs your friendly, copy-and-paste-worthy reminder list:
1. Drip your faucets so your pipes donât freeze. Water movement is your friend.
2. Disconnect hoses from exterior spigots. Frozen hose equals sad spigot.
3. Expect slower maintenance response times. If youâre snowed in, chances are we are too.
4. Charge your devices now, not when (if) the lights flicker.
5. Open cabinet doors under sinks to let warm air circulate. Your pipes will thank you.
And remember⊠If your issue can survive a cup of coffee and a good nightâs sleep, it probably doesnât require an emergency call. Please use the maintenance portal for non-urgent issues. Your landlord and your neighbors thank you. âđ
