Happy May 4th, everyone!
I wanted to share another quick update. I hope these have been helpful. We’re far enough into the storm response now that updates may not need to be as frequent—but I’ll continue sharing them whenever they’re helpful to you.
Here’s where things stand:
1. Claims Progress
We’ve had a large number of customers impacted, as expected, and claims are still coming in. As of this morning, 41% of impacted customers have been contacted.
We are now fully mobilized with 266 team members on the ground, and our drive-thru location is officially open and permitted.
Based on current progress, we expect nearly all auto claims to be contacted by the end of this week—which is an incredible accomplishment given the volume.
2. Fastest Auto Claim Options
The quickest experience continues to be:
* Virtual claims (fastest for those who can use it)
* Expedited Total Loss
* Select Service
* In-person inspection
* Drive-thru inspections (new option)
3. Scheduling
When a claims representative contacts you, they will walk you through all available options and schedule based on your preference.
If you’d like to switch to the drive-thru option after scheduling, just call them back and they’ll take care of it.
4. Owner Retained Salvage
If you’re interested in keeping your vehicle, ask your claim handler about this option. There are some variables (lienholders, water damage, state regulations, etc.), but they’ll guide you through what’s possible.
5. Homeowner Claims
Home claims are increasing daily. State Farm has deployed a large number of adjusters and is using advanced technology to help speed up the process.
You can expect initial contact within 3–5 days to begin your claim.
6. Area Vendors
Body shops, towing companies, rental car providers, roofers, and restoration teams are all at or near capacity—and will be for a while.
Please continue to show them patience and kindness. Claims may move faster than repairs, and we appreciate your understanding.
⸻
Thank you all again for your patience and support.
Because of the hard work from leadership, claims teams, and local agencies, we’re moving past the initial challenges—and this week should bring real progress.
Let’s call this week: PROGRESS.
