Restoring cars and restoring lives
Are much the same, it’s true.
One takes the bending of hardened steel,
The other, a heart made new.
One takes prayers and patience,
The other takes parts and a drill.
One reshapes a broken fender,
The other bends a stubborn will.
Both are noble callings,
Each worthy in God’s eyes.
A changed life yields love, joy, and peace;
A classic yields chrome that shines.
God is in the business
Of restoring broken souls.
He sees beyond the rust and scars,
And makes the shattered whole.
Much like one who sees a relic,
Covered deep in dust and grime,
Yet pictures there a gleaming hot rod,
Beautiful in its time.
Broken lives and shattered dreams
Are never the end of the story.
For we show His love by serving others,
Reshaping lives for God’s glory.”
