Springfield State Bank is pleased to announce we will be merging with Horizon Bank of Waverly, NE in January of 2022. The current ownership of Springfield State Bank has personally known the ownership of Horizon Bank for decades. Our ownership approached Horizon Bank’s management to determine if they had an interest in a merger and without hesitation they agreed. Horizon Bank was selected as a potential partner because of their stability, reputation, financial strength and commitment to the communities they serve.
Horizon Bank is headquartered in Waverly NE and has branches in McCook and Superior, Nebraska. Our staff is excited knowing the merger will substantially expand the products and services that are currently offered by Springfield State Bank.
Within a short time period you will receive an introduction letter from Horizon Bank. You will also notice that the signage around the bank will be changing soon.
Most importantly, while the name of our bank will change the faces will remain the same. Horizon Bank acknowledges that banking relationships and familiar faces are by far the biggest asset of any community banking organization.
We are excited for this merger as it solidifies the commitment we have had to the Springfield community for many years to come!
