Did you know a liability claim can outlive the policy that started it?

Some liability claims are resolved fairly quickly. Others can take years.

Once attorneys get involved, there can be investigations, multiple parties, questions about who's responsible, and a lot of back and forth before anything is resolved.

That's why I tell business owners to look at more than whether they have liability insurance. Your limits matter too!

If something happens, you're not just dealing with the incident itself. You could also be dealing with a long process of defending your business afterward.

Know where you stand before you're in the middle of it!

Five years with a client means a lot to me!

It means we've been there when they had questions, when things changed, and when they needed someone to pick up the phone and help them figure it out. That's the kind of relationship I want with the businesses we work with.

I know how much goes into building a business. I've done it myself. When someone trusts my team to help protect what they've built, I don't take that lightly. So when a business owner who's been doing this for 22 years calls us "top notch," I'll take that compliment all day long.

To everyone who continues to trust our team, thank you. We appreciate you more than you know!

Whoop! It's that time of year again. Maroon glasses are officially on. ๐Ÿ‘“

Every August I put mine on and I'm fully convinced this is the year. National Championship for the Aggies, no doubt about it. Ask me again in October and... well, we don't need to talk about that part yet. However this year could be different! ๐Ÿ‘€

There's just something about Aggie football that gets me every single season. Doesn't matter how last season ended, doesn't matter what the "experts" are predicting, come fall camp I'm right back to believing with my whole chest.

Gig 'em Aggies. Let's have a great season! ๐Ÿ‘

Who's your college football team? And don't lie, are you already wearing your own version of maroon glasses?

It's time to make your prediction.

Who's winning the National Championship this season, and why?

One of the roles I'm most proud of has nothing to do with insurance directly, it's serving on the Board of Directors for The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce as the VP of Business Development.

Honestly, I didn't expect it to mean as much to me as it does. You get pulled into rooms where you're hearing exactly what business owners around here are dealing with, the good and the hard stuff, and you actually get a say in how the Chamber shows up for them.

I've always believed being local means more than just having an office in the area. It means being in it with the people around you. Showing up. Putting in the work. This community has done a lot for my agency over the years, and being on that board is one of the few ways I feel like I'm actually giving something back instead of just taking from it.

It's a lot of meetings and a lot of behind the scenes work that nobody really sees. But every time I'm in that room, I'm reminded why I care about this so much. The relationships that come out of it go so much deeper than business!

Building something of your own teaches you things nobody can explain ahead of time. You have to learn them the hard way.

When I started this journey, it wasn't from some big grand plan. I lost my job for a corporate reason that had nothing to do with my ability, and I decided I never wanted to be in that position again. I didn't have a lot of capital, so I needed something that would reward effort and persistence more than money upfront. Insurance was that door.

What surprised me most is that building something of your own doesn't just build the business. It builds you. I had to work through a speech impediment in an industry that runs entirely on conversations and trust. I had to learn how to lead a team, not just close a sale. A business coach once helped me see myself differently, not as an insurance agent who owns a business, but as a business owner who happens to be in insurance. That one shift changed everything.

If you're in the middle of building something right now, know that the hard days are doing more for you than you realize. Keep going. What you're building is worth it, and so is who you're becoming while you build it.
