We are a team of professionals who take a detailed and intentional approach to coverage. Every business is different, and we focus on finding solutions that align with how each one

operates, not just placing a standard policy. Here, you will find more than just information about insurance. We share real insights, experiences, and the people behind The Koch Insurance Group, giving you a look at the personalities and values that drive the way we do business. Because at the end of the day, if you are relying on your insurance to protect what you have built, it should be set up the right way, by people you know and trust.

One of the best decisions I ever made in business was surrounding myself with people smarter than me.

There is a lot of value in being around people who challenge the way you think, see things differently, and have experience you do not.

Sometimes you can teach them something. A lot of times, they teach you something. Either way, everybody grows.

I learned a long time ago I never wanted to be the smartest person in the room. That mindset has helped me grow as a business owner, build a stronger team, and better serve the people who trust us to protect what they have built.

You learn a lot when you stop trying to prove yourself and start paying attention.

Do you really need workers comp?

A lot of business owners think they do not need it until a contract requires it or somebody gets hurt.

The answer really depends on how your business is set up, what kind of work you do, and whether you are using employees, subcontractors, or both.

This is where things can get messy pretty quickly if it is not structured correctly. Especially if you are using 1099 subcontractors and do not have the right agreements in place.

A big part of what we do is asking the right questions and looking at how your business actually operates so we can help make sure you are protected before something happens.

It is a lot easier to address this now than after there is a claim.

No insurance policy is one-size-fits-all when it comes to business coverage.

We understand the risk and consequences if a policy is not written correctly. It can affect not just the business, but the business owner, their family, employees, employees’ families, and even the customer and their family.

There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to building a policy that properly protects a business. The only way to make sure things are set up correctly is by asking a lot of questions and truly understanding how the business operates.

That is why we take the time to review the details, contracts, exposures, and risks before putting coverage in place.

When we build a policy, our goal is simple. Protect what you worked so hard to build.

Every year, my Reveille Networking Group volunteers at Houston National Cemetery to place flags on the graves of those who served our country.

It is a small part we get to play in honoring the men and women who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Memorial Day is more than just a long weekend. It is a reminder of the courage, service, and sacrifice made by so many who came before us.

I am proud to lead a group that takes the time to give back to the community and show respect in meaningful ways.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day!

You worked hard to build your business.

The long hours, stress, sacrifice, and everything that comes with trying to create something that supports your family, employees, and future.

The last thing you want is to find out after something happens that your coverage was not set up the way it should have been.

That is why we take the time to understand how your business actually operates, review contracts, identify gaps, and structure coverage around the real risks your business faces.

Let’s protect what you’ve built.

Reveille Networking Group is a nonprofit networking group I host every Friday morning from 7:30–8:30AM at Niko Niko’s in The Woodlands.

Over the years, we have been fortunate to give back over $100,000 raised through memberships and meetings to local charities and organizations serving our community.

We are an Aggie-based group, but everyone is welcome. Business owners, corporate employees, people in transition, retirees, or anyone simply looking to build meaningful connections and network with good people.

If you are looking for a group focused on friendship, service, and community, I would love for you to join us this Friday.

You will have the opportunity to connect with some great folks who genuinely want to help and support one another.

Years ago, I had a lady call me in desperate need of insurance coverage for a large contract tied to her janitorial business.

She had already called around trying to find the coverage she needed, but nobody could get it done the way the contract required. She was about ready to give up on the opportunity altogether.

Before making one last call, she prayed and decided to keep trying. Somehow, that call ended up being to me.

Within about 45 minutes, we were able to get the policy structured correctly and get her what she needed to move forward.

I genuinely enjoy being a small part of helping people protect and grow the businesses they have worked so hard to build and seeing their dreams become reality.

John, I appreciate you taking the time to share this. Thank you.

Charlotte and Rob really do a great job, and our team takes pride in the level of commitment and service they provide. They take the time to understand the business, ask the right questions, and make sure things are set up the way they should be.

That is something we focus on across the board. I'm glad we could help get you taken care of!

Back in college, I had a buddy who needed help at an apartment complex. It came with a free apartment, which was all I needed to hear.

I may have gone through a few phones during that time, but I could fix a mean toilet.

When I met my wife, she started calling me Mr. Potty Fixer Man. That one stuck for a while.

What started as fixing toilets eventually turned into managing the entire complex, then two complexes for the same company. After graduating, I stepped into a regional manager role.

When I left, the team gave me this door hanger as a going away gift. I still keep it on my office door. Figured I earned it.

I hope all of the moms out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday.

The early mornings, late nights, constant support, and everything in between does not go unnoticed.

I am especially thankful for my wife and everything she does for our family. Between work, kids, schedules, and the day-to-day chaos of life, she handles more than most people realize and does it with a level of patience I probably could not pull off myself.

And of course, Happy Mother’s Day to my mom as well. Thank you for everything you have done over the years and the example you set for our family.

Hopefully everyone got the chance to slow down a little, spend time with family, and enjoy the day.
