Married couples can maximize lifetime income and protect the surving spouse by coordinating when each partner files. One strategy The 62/70 split: the lower earning spouse claims early for immediate cash flow. The higher earner delays until age 70, locking in an 8% annual delayed credit increase.

Creating a will is crucial, but remember: life changes. When it does, so should your estate strategy. Regularly updating your will keeps it aligned with your current circumstances and wishes. Here are 7 reasons to revisit your will:

1️⃣ Family Changes: Marriage, divorce, births, or losses can impact your strategy.
2️⃣ Relocation: Different places, different laws.
3️⃣ Financial Shifts: Reflect on your current assets.
4️⃣ Executor/Trustee: Ensure they’re still the right choice.
5️⃣ Law Changes: Stay compliant and minimize taxes.
6️⃣ Beneficiary Updates: Reflect evolving relationships.
7️⃣ Time: Review every 3-5 years.

📝✨ August is Make-A-Will Month! ✨📝

In that spirit, we're raising awareness about the importance of creating a will. Now is the perfect time to have your wishes clearly outlined. Or if you have a will, August is a great time to review it and see if it remains aligned with your wishes.

Creating a will isn't just about assets; it's about leaving a legacy, making your intentions known, and thinking about your loved ones' future.

Here are a few reasons why having an up-to-date will is essential:
Your Loved Ones: Outline how you want your family to be cared for, especially any children under 18.
Manage Conflicts: Clear instructions can help during disputes and misunderstandings.
Your Legacy: How will your assets, possessions, and digital presence be distributed and managed?
Have Your Affairs in Order: Comfort for you and your loved ones.

Let's make this month count by taking steps towards your future! Have you already started? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. 👇💬

Trump Accounts opened on July 4. A few questions are worth considering:

➡️ Our baby is 18 months old. Do we qualify for the $1,000?

Yes. Every U.S. citizen baby born since January 1, 2025, qualifies for a one-time $1,000 federal contribution.

➡️ Is there an income maximum?

No. Eligibility is based on the child's citizenship and birth date, not family income.

➡️ Our child is 7. Did we miss it?

Not entirely. Any U.S. citizen under 18 can have an account opened. The federal $1,000 payment applies only to children born in 2025 through 2028, but everything else still applies.

➡️ Can grandparents contribute?

Yes. Up to $5,000 per year combined across parents, grandparents, family, and the child themselves.

➡️ What is the catch?

State tax conformity varies; California, for example, does not currently conform.

Whether to contribute, how much, and how to coordinate it with what you already have are all worth talking through. Our team is here for that.

🎆 Happy Independence Day! 🎇

Let's celebrate our nation's 250th Anniversary! On this day in 1776, our nation declared independence, paving the way for freedom, opportunity, and the American spirit we cherish today. 🎉🗽

As we enjoy fireworks, BBQs, and time with loved ones, let’s remember the courage and sacrifice that built this great nation. 🍔🌭

Happy Birthday, America! 🎂🎈

What would you do with a windfall?

A business sale. An inheritance. A bonus that lands bigger than expected.

Most people assume they'd handle it well.

But sudden money follows patterns. And the patterns aren't always flattering.

Psychologists call it sudden wealth syndrome: the anxiety, decision paralysis, and relationship pressure that arrive alongside a large sum. It shows up whether the windfall was a complete surprise or something you spent years building toward.

The 5 most common mistakes we see:

⏳ Upgrading your lifestyle before a strategy exists

🤝 Giving to family under emotional pressure

📊 Attempting to make decisions without professional guidance

⚖️ Freezing and making no decisions at all

📋 Missing the critical deadlines in year one

All five can be managed, but only if you get ahead of the emotions before the decisions start piling up.

The most important thing you can do in the first 90 days? Maybe nothing.

Tell very few people. Then consider building a team of professionals who can offer insights and guidance.

There is rarely a cost to waiting. There is frequently a cost to moving too quickly.
