π When did you last look at who's on your life insurance?
For most people the honest answer is "the day I signed it." Which for some families was two moves, one marriage, three kids and a couple of decades ago.
A life insurance policy pays exactly who the form says β not who you meant, not who everyone assumed, not what your will says. If the name on that line is out of date, that's who gets the check.
β
Take five minutes and pull up the beneficiary on every policy you own
β
Make sure a second, backup beneficiary is listed too
β
Update it after any marriage, divorce, birth, or loss
It's the cheapest, fastest piece of protection there is, and it's the one almost nobody gets around to.
If you can't find your paperwork, bring us what you've got and we'll help you track it down.
