This morning I wept for the toucans, and then for all of us. I found two toucans in the road, one was trying to move the other. I picked up the lifeless beautiful bird and moved it to the side of the road in the grass. I looked up and the trees were filled with Toucans. They saw me and cried with me, it was beautiful and so sad.

As I drove away, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. I don't recognize us anymore. I used to believe that people were compassionate and kind. I used to think that everyone understood the value of life. Now we don't cry for another, we cheer on each other's suffering.

How do we find our way back to humanity?
