The purpose of the PCUW organization is to aid credit union women in their development, performance and fellowship as professionals. PCUW strives to provide you with programs, speakers and scholarship opportunities that will benefit you in the credit union field.

We hope everyone had an amazing weekend! We are excited to welcome Shannon Jiskra as the new Chapter Treasurer.

Shannon Jiskra, AVP Payment Services (Card Services, Dispute Processing, and Payment Operations) from Numerica Credit Union, has worked in the financial industry for more than 30 years and spent the majority of that at Numerica. She holds an MBA from WGU and graduated from Western CUNA Management School in 2021, Go Sigmas! Shannon enjoys spending time with her family and many fur babies, collecting and selling vintage items, crafting, reading, and enjoying the beautiful PNW. She has a passion for the credit union industry/movement and is excited to be a part of the Chapter and Board along with her credit union peers.

We will also be holding our annual election for the Board for the Spokane Chapter. If you are interested in serving on the 2023/2024 Board, please email [email protected]. We have two openings on the Board this term, and highly encourage our Chapter members to consider serving. We need creative ideas, helping hands and it’s a great way to show your dedication to the credit union movement.

We will be collecting donations at the November meeting for Project Beauty Share. Our annual holiday bag stuffing volunteer event with them is taking place on December 1 this year. Our Sister’s Closet is a free, donation-based boutique for women & non-binary folks. We offer 90 minute 1-on-1 sessions to help clients feel beautiful, boost confidence. Each client typically receives 3-5 outfits, shoes, makeup & much more!

This upcoming Northwest Global Women's Leadership Network event is hosted by Eastern Washington’s Sister Society, Professional Credit Union Women (PCUW)

Please join Global Women's Leadership Network Sister Society leaders for a special virtual event titled:
The Art of Grit and Grace present by Jana Erny
on International Women's Day, March 8th; 3:00-4:30 Pacific Time!

Our featured guest is Jana Erny, a credit union executive, and strategic mentor. Jana is passionate about empowering others to achieve heights far greater than imagined as well as taking organizations to the next level by reimagining the future. Having experienced major obstacles as well as tremendous success personally and professionally, Jana learned to blaze new trails, lean into her strengths, and do the difficult work of developing emotional intelligence as she tackled the ugly head on. She has spent much of her career heavily investing in the success of others by fiercely equipping men and women to own their voice and break down barriers. Grit, grace, and intention are key drivers that will be discussed on March 8th!

We are excited to welcome Sinéad Voorhees presenting, The Power of Productivity and Habits: How little changes can reshape your life, to our virtual March Leadership event. March 24, 5:30 - 7 pm. Sinéad is a native of Ireland and earned her M.Sc. in development practice from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Voorhees has spent over a decade aligning passion with opportunity with time spent in the fields of international development, event management and academia. She currently serves as the Assistant Dean of the graduate studies in business program at Whitworth University. During her nine years at Whitworth, the MBA program has doubled in size and Voorhees has created innovative programs through the new Institute of Leadership. She continues to implement a 'people first' approach and believes in the power of collaboration and
servant leadership. In 2014, she was recognized as one of the Inland Northwest's top 20 Under 40 rising professionals and in 2019 was featured on the cover of Spokane/Coeur d'Alene magazine as one of the top 20 women in business leadership; an award she won in the Newcomer division. In the fall of 2019 she was recognized as a Spokane Journal of Business Rising Star; an honor given annually to only ten deserving professionals under 40 in the Inland Northwest. She speaks publicly on passion, dreams and confidence and is a proud graduate of Leadership Spokane. She is the chair of the Spokane County United Way’s Emerging Leader Society and serves on the program committee for the Executive Women International Spokane Chapter. In addition to her career accomplishments, she is a mother to four children, married to the love of her life and happily calls Spokane home on their family's 10.5 acres of heaven.
