Angels,

Executive Director, Amber, here. I want to share a very special shout out with you all today. Did you know that Spokane Angels is largely made up of a working board? This means that each of these incredible individuals donates their time to taking on a role that helps our organization grow and live out our mission. Whether it's looking into speaking opportunities in our community, collaborating with other nonprofits, dealing with the business side of our organization, ensuring our finances are in order, organizing and communicating with our volunteers, running our social media, developing partnerships with local businesses, applying for grants, this incredible board does so much and we could not reach children and families in our community through our programs without them.

Please join me in saying thank you! Thank you Sarah, Kristina, Hannah, Makayla, Jessica, Krystal, Cassie and Krystal for devoting your precious time and incredible skills and talents to helping us change the lives of children in foster care here in Spokane! 💛

Studying for one of my CFP classes and it’s talking about the history of Social Security.

My favorite is the quote at the top from FDR “We can never insure one hundred percent of the population against one hundred percent of the hazards and vicissitudes of life, but we have tried to frame a law which will give some measure of protection to the average citizen and to his family against the loss of a job and against poverty ridden old age”

It’s not perfect but it was never designed to be the only source of income in retirement for most people.
