Erin Andrews, founder of Indi chocolate, has been making chocolate for over 12 years. She started making chocolate because her daughters asked her where chocolate comes from. After taking them to Belize to show them that cacao grows on trees, she fell in love with the world of chocolate. Erin has been very creative in the ways she uses the cacao bean, she started indi chocolate with her amazing cocoa butter lotions. They moved into our current location in Pike Place Market Front on Western Ave. in 2017 so that their entire bean to bar chocolate making process could be watched right from their cafe.

Owner and operator of 12th House Crafts, Danielle Bassett is 22 years old and recently graduated from the University of Redlands in the spring of 2020 with a double major in communicative disorders and Spanish. She is currently in the application process to pursue her masters degree in Speech Language Pathology in Oregon!

Danielle started making candles as a way to reuse the old wax from past candles which turned into a passion for creating her own brand. In October 2020, Danielle started making her own 100% soy wax candles right out of her family’s diningroom and began selling them on Etsy.

Owner and operator of Brittany Jo was introduced to string art at a lady's craft night and quickly fell in love. Her first string art piece featured an elephant that Brittany Jo drew herself, nailed out, and strung. Picking the craft up as a hobby, Brittany Jo continued to create more string art, including pieces she planned to hang in her future child’s nursery.

Like most small business owners, Brittany Jo’s business didn’t take off right away, but every sale got her one step closer to her dream of being a stay at home mom while helping to provide financially for her family. After she had her son, Brittany Jo battled with postpartum depression and used her string art as a way to communicate her feelings. For example, she created the dandelion design because it felt personal to her -- like a w**d, or a failure. Happy New Year! Today is the first day of 2021, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what this new year will bring to the table. 2020 was a crazy year for most people, but it was particularly insane for

In March of 2020, co-owner of INW Trading Co. Mariah unexpectedly lost her job due to COVID-19 closing most of the Spokane area’s restaurants. Although we knew that the restaurant where she worked would eventually reopen, there was a sense of uncertainty that left us both feeling insecure. Then, her fiancé (now husband) Gary .b_ permanently his job too. We were both receiving enough unemployment to keep us afloat, but we couldn’t help but look toward the future. What was next?

In April, we decided it was time to embark on the dream we had shared for some time to start our own small business. Faced with the same obstacles as everyone else, we decided to start a business that would help not only us, but other people affected by COVID-19. Specifically, we wanted to create opportunities for Inland Northwest makers to get their products in the hands of people who were stuck at home. So, we created , a subscription box service that features handmade items from the Inland Northwest!

January marks the beginning of our 8th month as a small business. Since May of 2020, we have released 7 subscription boxes which we hand delivered to our local subscribers. In July, we were featured on KXLY, , and by the . In August, we began offering Custom Gift Boxes. In October, we were contacted by to be featured on GMA3. In December, we released our Holiday Gift Box and SOLD OUT! On December 7th, we were featured on Good Morning America along with a few of the makers who we have partnered with for our subscription boxes.

To say the least, it has been an incredibly eventful year for our business. We have also had some exciting personal developments as well — we got married in September, and in July we found out that Mariah is pregnant with our baby boy. COVID-19 aside, 2020 has been a doozy of a year for us. Bring it on, 2021.
