The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022 will make several changes to Medicare Part D plans starting in 2025 that will have a major impact on the cost that Medicare beneficiaries will pay for Prescription Medication, including:

Prescription drug payment plan:
Medicare Part D plans will allow people to pay for prescription drugs in monthly installments, and annual out-of-pocket costs will be capped at only $2,000.

Manufacturer discount program:

CMS will establish a Part D manufacturer discount program to replace the Coverage Gap Discount Program.

Elimination of the "donut hole":

The Prescription Drugs Coverage Gap, also known as the "donut hole", will be eliminated for seniors.
