When team communication breaks down, it is easy to make the problem personal:
“You’re too slow.”
“You’re too intense.”
“You always find a problem.”
A more productive approach is to ask what the team needs in that moment. Is an important perspective missing? Are risks being overlooked? Has everyone been heard? Is the team ready to move forward?
Changing the questions can help teams replace blame with greater clarity, stronger decisions, and better collaboration.
