Despite the current challenges facing the agriculture industry, land markets are still resilient! In the latest report from the RLI Iowa Chapter, every crop district is showing gains in value over the past 6 months with the entire state gaining 1.3% on average. This just goes to show that no matter what economy we’re facing, land still shines as a strong investment!
Iowa Farmland Values - Spring 2026
Iowa farmland values are holding strong. The Iowa REALTORS® Land Institute’s Spring 2026 survey shows a 1.3% statewide increase since September 2025, with gains across all nine crop reporting districts. The Northeast led the way with a 3.4%.
Despite tight commodity margins, motivated buyers are active and quality farms are moving. 70% of respondents expect values to climb further over the next five years - Iowa farmland remains a reliable long-term asset.🌽
A huge shoutout to Rebecca Frantz and Matt Vegter of Hertz Farm Management for their work co-chairing the Land Trends & Values Committee and coordinating this survey!
