🌾 Young Farmers, join us at the Clay County Fair! 🌾

We’re inviting young farmers from across the region to gather at Grandpa’s Barn on Sunday, September 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a chance to connect, network, and socialize with fellow young farmers.

🍔 Enjoy a complimentary food voucher redeemable at either the Pork Producers or Cattlemen’s Association food stand!

🚂 Interested in exploring a piece of fairground history? Sign up for a guided tour of the Historic Train Depot! Tours are available at: 📍 11:00 a.m.
📍 1:30 p.m.
📍 3:00 p.m.

🥇🥈🥇While attending the Iowa State Fair, CCFB Board Member, Ben Pullen, had some fun by taking part in the "Beard Growing Contest" held every year at Pioneer Hall. Ben took home 1st Place in "Most Unique" & Most Historic." Way to go Ben!

The Clay County Farm Bureau held their annual meeting on August 4th at the Farm Bureau Office. Representative Megan Jones & IFBF District 3 Director, Matt Schuiteman were the guests. Both gave those in attendance updates on timely topics and answered questions that were presented.

Here's your chance to help raise money for "Partners for Patriots."
Last year Clay County Farm Bureau chose to donate our Spencer Main Street Market proceeds to this great organization. These folks are dedicated to obtaining, training and providing service dogs to military veterans or their family members free of charge. Besides giving companionship and loyalty, a well-trained service dog can help a veteran in many ways.

Clay County Fair 4-H/FFA livestock late entries are still being accepted until August 24, 2026, with a $25/exhibitor late fee.

We welcome exhibitors from across Iowa, the bottom two tiers of Minnesota (all of Minnesota for swine), and bordering counties in Nebraska and South Dakota. If you're an active 4-H or FFA member, we hope to see you in the ring!

🍅Ag in the Classroom educator, Amy Forrette, partnered with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Clay County to offer six hands on summer sessions focused on ag literacy and gardening.

🥔At the very first session, each family planted potatoes in their own above ground planter. By the final session, those same families harvested the potatoes they grew themselves.

🙂The smiles say it all — the kids were thrilled to see the results of their hard work.
