Important message:

Last Friday, the U.S. Treasury Department and the IRS announced the deadline to file federal individual income tax returns has been extended to July 15, 2020. You now have an extra 90 days to help your clients file their tax returns. No additional paperwork is needed to take advantage of this extension. Read the official IRS notice.
Several states continue to adjust their filing deadlines as well. You can find updated information on those changes on our COVID-19 State Deadlines FAQ.
As a reminder, the IRS announced earlier in the week that the deadline to submit federal tax payments was extended to July 15, 2020. All individual and other non-corporate tax filers are allowed to defer their federal income tax payments to July 15 without penalties or interest.
