Backpack Sponsors Needed
Dear Friends & fellow community leaders,
Each year, Tabitha’s Way Local Food Pantry works with Nebo School District to provide backpacks and health screening vouchers to 2,500 local children. New backpacks filled with school supplies, along with free vision and health screenings are provided to at risk children to better equip them mentally, physically and emotionally for the upcoming school year. Assisting each child in starting the school year prepared is a crucial element to helping them achieve their greatest potential.
According to the US Census, 16.3% of children are living in poverty. Quoting Voices for Utah Children “more resources need to be devoted to helping at risk children, without it, they are more likely to fall behind their peers and earn less as adults”.
Tabitha’s Way anticipates seeing improved health, the opportunity for greater academic achievement and enhanced social behaviors in the children receiving our assistance.
