📢 Heads up, business owners! A tax change is coming that could affect your bottom line.

Starting in 2026, employer-provided meals are no longer deductible. That means the meals you've been providing to employees — whether in your office break room, on-site cafeteria, or as a convenience to you as the employer — will lose their 50% deduction entirely.

This has been a gradual phase-out:

✅ Pre-2018 — 100% deductible
⚠️ 2018–2025 — 50% deductible
❌ 2026 onward — 0% deductible
Now is a great time to review how meals factor into your employee benefits and business expenses before year-end — and make sure your books are set up to track these changes accurately.

The Selection and Analytic Platform is currently in a pilot program designed to connect the dots across more than 100 of the IRS's internal systems. It can process unstructured data — like PDFs and supporting documents — that human auditors might take weeks to review manually.
