FMCSA just finalized 11 of 18 proposed deregulatory changes.
Quick highlights:
✅ Electronic DVIRs are officially confirmed acceptable
✅ Liquid flare & spare fuse requirements removed (triangles still required)
✅ License plate lamp exception while towing a trailer
✅ Tire load marking on sidewalls no longer FMCSA-regulated
✅ CDL military exception extended to dual-status military technicians
FMCSA says the economic impact of these changes is small — this is modernization and cleanup, not a major overhaul.

Not true.
FMCSR 393.9 only requires the lamps listed in 393.11, Table 1 to be operational — not every auxiliary light, and not every manufacturer-installed light.
If you get written up for a light that's not in that table, DataQ it. That violation shouldn't stick.
