This defendant accepted a plea deal and was scheduled for a 19-year sentence due to a long history of serious crimes, including first-degree robbery, unlawful restraint, burglary, and fourth-degree larceny. The day before his sentencing, he removed his monitoring device and decided to go on run.
He violently robbed a woman at a restaurant with a weapon, holding her against her will, then forced her to another location where he robbed a second restaurant.
Additionally, he has been terrorizing his ex-girlfriend for the past five months—missing his court date, cutting off his monitoring device, threatening her, vandalizing her vehicle and home, and causing her to live in fear for her life. This individual has been wreaking havoc and stealing vehicles across Ansonia, Derby, and Bridgeport, Connecticut, often sleeping inside them, alluding, apprehension.
This has been a lengthy investigation involving significant manpower and collaboration between the U.S. Marshals and our agents. After over five months, a successful apprehension took place in Bridgeport, CT. The defendant now faces up to 38 years in prison with all his additional charges. If he receives the maximum sentence, it could amount to a life sentence.
Warning to all bondsmen: This is a high-risk bond and a definite flight risk. Although I do not expect him to post bond soon, his current bond amount is $3,350,000.
The defendant was apprehended in Bridgeport, CT, and is now in custody, surrendered to the Bridgeport Police Department for processing.
