A few weeks ago, my cousin and I attended the BMW M Driving School. It was hands down one of the most exciting and challenging experiences I’ve ever had.
It wasn’t just about speed… it was about control, discipline, and ex*****on under pressure.
The power and precision of those cars is unreal. But what really stood out was learning the technique behind it all and then having to actually apply it in real time on the track.
We worked through:
✔️ Drifting and oversteering at high speeds
✔️ Small, medium, and large track maneuvering
✔️ Trail braking
✔️ Figure 8 racing on soaked tracks
✔️ High-speed cornering at 80+ mph
All while managing adrenaline, emotions, and focus.
At one point, I had the slowest time during figure 8 practice…
By the end, I pushed to the 3rd fastest time.
I also finished with the 3rd fastest time on the medium track. My cousin Felipe was 1st in a few as well. What can I say, us Machados like to drive fast🤣🇨🇴
But more than anything…
I found a new passion.
There’s something powerful about being pushed into something you’ve never done before. Being uncomfortable, learning fast, and then seeing yourself improve in real time with high stakes on the line.
That feeling? I’m hooked.
Big reminder for me:
-Growth happens when you lean into discomfort
-Mastery is built through repetition and adjustment
-Performance is about staying composed when it counts
This wasn’t just driving…it was a lesson in mindset, control, and pushing limits.
Needless to say I still love my Audi 🚙 🤣🤷🏻
