Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Martin Engstler, CFA

Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Martin Engstler, CFA I started my career in financial services back in Germany in 1992, when I joined BHF-BANK's training program to become a "Bankkaufmann".

There, I learned for the very first time about the functioning of capital markets and fell in love with the idea that financial solutions, which are tailored to a client's unique needs, help them achieve their most important goals. Ever since, I have been a lifelong learner, obtaining a Master of Science in economics from the University of Konstanz in 2001, earning my Chartered Financial Analyst (

CFA®) designation in 2006, becoming a Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) in 2010, and obtaining a Certificate in "Advanced Risk & Investment Management" from Yale School of Management and EDHEC Risk Institute in 2018. Along the way, I have put all that theory to work, and over the course of my career as a portfolio manager for HSBC Global Asset Management in Europe and Hartford Investment Management in the U.S., have helped clients globally achieve their unique goals by understanding what is most important to them and by providing them with solutions that help them achieve those goals. I was drawn to Edward Jones in 2019 because of our culture and core values that put our clients' interests at the heart of everything. Before we even speak about investment or insurance solutions, I want to understand what is most important to you, see where you are today and where you want to be in the future. Then, I use our established process to build personalized strategies that help you reach your goals and together we will tackle everything that matters to you, be it emergency savings, saving for education, retirement planning, or protecting your loved ones. My wife, Laura, and I have called Southbury home since 2010. We love the community and everything it offers, are involved in the Tribury Rotary and Cub Scouts, and our two sons are in the early grades of the Region 15 school system. I look forward to partnering with you over the long term.

Large IPOs can come with a lot of fanfare. But in the early days of public trading, it can be difficult to separate long-term fundamentals from short-term momentum.

We break down what history shows about IPO performance – and share key considerations to help investors stay grounded in the fundamentals:

Initial public offerings (IPOs) tend to attract a lot of investor interest, especially when the company is large and well-known. The excitement can be tempting, but it doesn't always lead to strong investment results. We encourage investors to look beyond the headlines and focus on whether the share...

As investors look beyond Middle East tensions, U.S. economic fundamentals are coming into sharper focus, driven by an accelerating AI investment and robust corporate profit growth, reinforcing the constructive case for equities. However, elevated inflation may keep rate cuts off the table and limit near-term progress in bond markets.

Senior Economist James McCann explains what this could mean for investors in our Weekly Market Wrap.
