Integrity, character , keeping your word…..

All of the above are adjectives that just mean you do what you say you’re going to do, even when it’s an inconvenience to you, You do it anyway because you said you would .

The words below are not mine , but came in an email from a coworker and although lengthy, says so much when it comes to the three adjectives above ….(the beginning of this email was omittedl)…

“Getting sidetracked”

No excuses, and I’m not pleased with myself. Yes, I was traveling. Sure, I can make excuses. But at the end of the day, I didn’t live up to my personal expectations of doing what I needed to do. Can you relate? I hope not, but likely you can. Do you get sidetracked easily? How do you make up for it? Do you put in the extra hours to ensure you meet your personal expectations and goals? Would I rather be sitting on the couch watching TV? Well, not really my thing, but would I rather be reading a good book or having a beer with my son…you betcha!

Think about your week and what your goals were. Likely, you couldn’t accomplish all of them. How do you make up for what you missed? Do you work more hours? Rebook them into other time slots? Or, just let them go and forget about them? Too many of us do the latter. That isn’t good.

Accountability, scheduling and organization is such a critical piece of success in our business! How do you handle conflicts, missing deadlines and all the curve balls that life throws at you? Take a few minutes to think about it.
