New scam for Medicare eligible people to be aware of. It is illegal for a broker to cold call you to solicit Medicare plans- if someone calls you and states they are "returning your call" and you know you did not call them-report them immediately to CMS at 1-800- 985-3059. These bad players will enroll you in plans without your knowledge, use scare tactics, and could put you in a very bad financial situation. Do not fall victim of these predatory practices.

Health Insurance Premium Tax Credit & Cost-Sharing Reductions Expansion is set to end at the end of tax year 2025.
In response to the Pandemic, the threshold cliff to qualify for tax credits to reduce your premiums were removed. The income qualifications were changed to a sliding scale that slowly disappeared as income levels rose. This helped millions of American citizens struggling to pay the ever increasing health insurance premiums. For a single person in CT making 45000 per year, a Silver plan could cost them $1500 per month/$18,00 per year (not including the 5000 deductible, co-pays, coinsurance, etc.) without the expansion in place.
