Morten identified a unique business opportunity helping truckers navigate the new motor carrier regulations recently brought forth by both the federal government and the State of Nebraska. Today, Joe Morten & Son is Great West Casualty Company’s largest agency representing nearly 4,000 customers in 30 states producing close to $145 million in annual premium. Fleet technology can provide valuable information, but it's most effective when drivers and employees understand how to use it. Take time to learn your ELD, dash camera, navigation system, or other fleet technology so you know what it's designed to do - and what it isn't.

🚛🎙️ Episode 6 of Driven by Diesel is officially live!

Technology is changing the way trucking companies manage safety, compliance, and day-to-day operations—but having the technology is only part of the equation. In this episode Stephanie and Tina discuss how tools like ELDs, electronic DVIRs, dash cameras, smart routing systems, in-cab safety technology, and AI can support drivers and help fleets make more informed decisions. They also talk about an important piece that can sometimes get overlooked: what you actually do with the information the technology provides. Training, documentation, consistent processes, and follow-through still matter.

Most people don't spend much time thinking about their insurance when everything is running smoothly. That changes quickly when something unexpected happens. An accident occurs. A truck goes down. A claim needs to be filed. Questions that once seemed theoretical suddenly become urgent. When a claim occurs, the quality of support behind the coverage often becomes just as important as the coverage itself.

Accidents don’t wait, your preparation makes all the difference. The right coverage and team in place means you’re not caught scrambling for answers.

Livestock haulers need insurance that fits a living-cargo operation. Exposures differ from traditional hauling operations, requiring consideration of animal welfare losses, higher facility-to-interface risk, and more frequent driver activity during loading/unloading. A trucking program that doesn’t account for those realities can leave painful gaps when an incident occurs.

Livestock haulers need insurance that fits a living-cargo operation. Exposures differ from traditional hauling operations considering animal welfare losses.
