Happy Mother’s Day to all the women who mother in so many beautiful ways.

I recently heard Pastor Mike Todd teach on the difference between being a male, becoming a man, and stepping into the responsibility of fatherhood. It reminded me that biology may identify us, but maturity, responsibility, love, and sacrifice reveal who we are becoming.

That made me reflect on motherhood.

Genesis 1:27 reminds us that God created us male and female, both made in His image with purpose, dignity, and value.

Proverbs 31 gives us the picture of a woman of noble character, clothed with strength and dignity, speaking with wisdom, and carrying value far beyond what the world can measure.

And 1 Timothy 5:2 reminds us that motherhood is not only biological. It can also be relational, spiritual, and generational.

A female is created by God.

A woman is shaped through wisdom, maturity, strength, resilience, and character.

A mother is revealed through nurturing, covering, teaching, sacrificing, praying, protecting, guiding, and loving in a way that gives life to others.

Bishop T.D. Jakes has spoken about the God-given power of a mother, the way her prayers, sacrifice, strength, and presence can shape families and influence generations.

That is legacy.

Legacy is not only what we leave behind financially. It is also what we pour into the people we love every day.

To every woman who shows up with a mother’s heart, today we honor you.
