Ever notice how the best career advice rarely comes from a classroom? This summer, our Watkins University interns learned from four people who don’t sell a single insurance policy — and honestly, that was the point.

📍 Louis at Levitate gave them a tour of Levitate’s Raleigh office — think Silicon Valley meets a TV set. Levitate’s the software that helps us actually build relationships with our clients, and watching Louis in action showed our interns what “customer success” looks like when it’s done right.

📈 Joe Wik of Policastro, Wik and Associates walked them through the real world of M&A — agency valuations, private equity, where this industry is headed. Numbers most 20-year-olds never see until it’s their money on the line.

🎯 Bill Gilliland of ActionCoach taught them something no textbook will: how to stay sharp for the long haul, in sales and in life. Self-education doesn’t end at graduation — it’s a daily habit.

🤝 Michael Norwood — career coach, UNC faculty, and a guy who played for Dean Smith himself — broke down networking and LinkedIn the right way. Because your next opportunity is rarely a stranger; it’s someone you haven’t met yet. Four mentors. Four industries. One summer our interns won’t forget.
