New month, same creative Sundays! 🎨🖌️

Affordable Housing + Land Conservation + Vermont Spirit = Muddy Moose Project!

We were honored to help preserve this Morristown land through the Muddy Moose Project, led by Stowe Land Trust in partnership with Downstreet Housing & Community Development. This work connects land conservation with access to affordable housing for Vermonters, making it a win-win.

Move over, Groundhog Day. August is taking over the seasonal forecast. ☀️🍂

Around here, it could go either way: a few more weeks of lake days and creemees, or crisp mornings and the first hints of fall.

Did you make it to the Vermont Lake Monsters’ Local Legends Night? ⚾💜

We brought 500 limited edition Purple Lake Monsters hats to the ballpark, and you all made sure they found some new homes! 🧢

Thanks to everyone who came out! We had a blast sponsoring the night, celebrating some of Vermont’s local legends, cheering on the Monsters, and seeing a whole lot of purple to the stands. 🙌

Now the important question… who’s still wearing their purple hat?

Giving World Photography Day a little Vermont ’90s throwback. 📸

Think chunky cameras, slightly overexposed snapshots, and a very Vermont lineup: covered bridges, creemees, trail days, fall leaves, and about 47 photos of the same mountain view because somehow each one still feels different.

Share your favorite throwback photo with us! We’d love to see what memories are hiding in your camera roll (or old photo albums). 👀

Buying a home is exciting, but the monthly payment is only part of the picture. 🏡

Whether you’re a first-time homeowner or have been in your home for years, here are a few costs worth keeping in mind:

1️⃣ Maintenance & repairs: Regular upkeep like servicing systems, replacing appliances, and handling everyday wear and tear is part of the deal. There’s almost always something on the list.

2️⃣ Unexpected fixes: Some expenses show up unannounced, like a water heater, roof repair, or HVAC issue. It’s less “if” and more “when.”

3️⃣ Property taxes & insurance: These ongoing costs are part of homeownership and can change over time depending on your location and coverage. Easy to forget about until they’re not.

4️⃣ The little things: Tools, small projects, and upgrades may seem minor individually, but they can add up quickly. Those “quick” trips to the store have a way of becoming a regular occurrence.

Nothing you can’t plan for, just part of making a house your own. ✨

Saving for concert tickets, a first car, college, a new game, or just a little extra spending money? It all counts. 💸

For International Youth Day, we’re celebrating young people as they start building confidence with money, from setting savings goals to learning how small habits can add up over time.

One simple tip: start with a goal that feels exciting. When there’s something specific to save for, it’s easier to set money aside and watch the progress grow.

Encourage the young people in your life to start small, stay consistent, and keep their goals in sight.
