They went over the edge for a great cause.

This week, Diane Davidson and Jess Spoor rappelled 25 stories down Liberty Tower in downtown South Bend as part of the Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County’s Over the Edge event.

The event supports YSB’s work with local youth experiencing homelessness, and Gibson is proud to be a sponsor.

And we’re especially proud of Diane and Jess for stepping over the edge and representing Gibson along the way.

Congratulations to Craig Heatherly, who has been named Gibson’s Michiana Market Leader. Since joining Gibson in 2021, Craig has built strong relationships with clients and colleagues and taken on an increasingly important leadership role within the firm.

At Gibson, we believe every organization has an edge. Apparently, bears do too. 🐻

Bear 89, better known as Backpack, was crowned the 2026 Fat Bear Week champion today.

What makes Backpack interesting isn’t just his size. He’s known for taking a different approach, relying less on aggression and more on patience, experience and finding the places where he can succeed.

There’s a business lesson in that: The strongest organizations don’t win by simply copying what everyone else is doing. They understand what makes them different, build on those strengths and use them to create an advantage.

Backpack found his edge. And clearly, he owned it.

One of the best parts of being part of Gibson is learning from people across our markets.

Recently, colleagues came together to share ideas, talk about what’s working, and learn from each other. We also made time for dinner, morning workouts, and a night at the ballpark.
