August is National Make-a-Will Month,
serving as an annual reminder to secure your legacy, protect your loved ones, and gain peace of mind.

Despite the immense value of early legacy planning, nearly 68% of Americans do not have a current, valid will.

Why Does Having a Will Matter?

Procrastination, costs, and the misconception that wills are only for the wealthy often cause people to delay this crucial step. However, a will is vital for everyone because it allows you to:

* Distribute Assets: Say exactly who receives your property, savings, and sentimental items.

* Protect Dependents: Name legal guardians for your minor children and dependents.

* Appoint an Executor: Choose a trusted person to manage and carry out your final wishes.

* Possibly prevent State Intervention: Avoid lengthy, expensive probate court processes and family disputes.
