PSA: The latest Medicare scam are unsolicited phone calls wanting to know if you’ve received your “new Medicare card”? First of all there is NOT a new Medicare card. Secondly, Medicare doesn’t make outbound calls out of the blue. These type calls are ALWAYS scams. Hang up immediately. Do NOT engage in any conversation with these predators. Do NOT ever engage with someone who is calling that you are not expecting to hear from. No legitimate entity makes these types of calls. Period!

This is the first Saturday I’ve taken off and slept in since early October as the tsunami of clients that review their Medicare plans - Supplements, Advantage (Part C) and Prescription (Part D) - scheduled appointments seven days a week. Then clients who enroll in Marketplace/Obamacare plans join in starting November 1st! Whew! The pace gets intense! My first six season were with another agency and now I’ve matched that with my current agency, Aldridge Insurance (my first year in the business I hadn’t completed my training yet). The numbers reflect I had a record year, but the satisfaction is knowing that each of the clients I met with got my focused attention on their questions. Many stayed put with what they had, many others made changes, but either way they understood what they had, what it fully cost (which isn’t just monthly premium) and left comfortable they had made the right choice based on their needs, preferences and budget. I take my obligation of being a full service licensed insurance agent seriously and I want to thank each of you who put your trust in me for such important decisions! THANK YOU!

Now I let out a huge sigh of relief as I make ready to join family and extended family down in Texas for Christmas! And best of all my Grandkids! Christmas spent with Grandkids is the best! As a grandparent I finally fully understand and appreciate why my grandparents fussed over us so much when they came to visit. There is no better joy!

For folks who have Medicare for their health insurance we are at the start of the Annual Election Period (AEP) or Open Enrollment. Plan information is now available to review and the option to enroll and/or make changes begins October 15th and runs until December 7th. I remain fully active in this and welcome existing clients back and accept new clients as well.
