It's not too late! 😉

A 65-year-old man was rejected over 1,000 times before his simple chicken recipe eventually made him a billionaire. That man was Colonel Harland Sanders.

Born in 1890 in Henryville, Indiana, Sanders faced significant hardship from an early age. After his father died when he was just five, he took on adult responsibilities, helping support his family through cooking, farming, and other work. These early struggles shaped his resilience and strong work ethic.

Sanders left school in the seventh grade after conflicts with his stepfather and moved out to work on a farm. At 16, he falsified his age to enlist in the U.S. Army, where he served as a wagoner in Cuba. After his service, he returned to civilian life but struggled to maintain steady employment, moving from job to job and often being dismissed. He later studied law and briefly practiced, but his legal career ended after a courtroom altercation damaged his reputation.

His personal life was also difficult. He married at 18, but the marriage ended in divorce two years later. With no stable income or direction, Sanders felt defeated and at one point even considered ending his life. However, while writing his will, he reflected on what truly gave his life meaning. He realized that cooking and serving others brought him the greatest sense of purpose.

Throughout his life, Sanders worked a wide range of jobs, including insurance salesman, steam engine operator, and gas station manager. It was during this time that he developed his signature chicken recipe. His true breakthrough came much later in life. After retiring at age 65 with very little to his name, Sanders borrowed $87 from a bank to purchase a fryer and ingredients. Instead of settling into retirement, he chose to pursue his passion by traveling across the country to pitch his recipe to restaurant owners.

Because he had little money and was living on a small retirement check, Sanders could not offer a traditional business deal. Instead, he introduced a performance-based licensing model. Rather than asking for upfront payment, he allowed restaurant owners to use his recipe and pay him a small fee for each chicken sold. He faced staggering rejection, being turned down 1,009 times. Undeterred, he kept trying until the 1,010th restaurant finally accepted his offer, establishing the very first KFC franchise in Utah.

From there, Kentucky Fried Chicken grew rapidly, attracting more franchise partners and eventually becoming a publicly traded company with global recognition. By the age of 88, Sanders had become a multi-billionaire, and KFC had grown into the second-largest food empire in the world.

His journey stands as proof that age is just a number and that it is never too late to pursue a dream. More importantly, his story shows that the only true failure is giving up, and that even the hardest setbacks can become stepping stones to extraordinary success.

Most people build for profit first and wonder why nobody cares.

They chase quick wins instead of solving real problems.

But people don’t pay for effort. They pay for value.

If what you offer doesn’t change anything, it won’t last.

The businesses that win make life easier, faster, or better for someone.

That’s what gets attention. That’s what earns trust.

And once you have trust, money follows without chasing it.💰

If your bank statement disappeared today, could you rebuild your monthly spending from memory?

Most people can’t.

Not because they’re careless. Because small expenses hide in plain sight:

• Subscriptions you forgot about
• Automatic renewals
• Convenience spending
• The “it’s only $20” moments

Untracked spending quietly competes with your goals.

Before trying to earn more, find what you’re already losing.

Where’s the money?

Reach out to me and I can help you uncover where that money is going and put it back to work so you can start moving toward stronger financial footing.

💼 Ownership changes how effort works.

When you build something of your own, every hour has the chance to stack on the last.

Progress compounds.

Lessons compound.

Reputation compounds.

Some days feel like nothing is happening.

But the foundation keeps getting stronger.

That’s the hidden advantage most people miss.

When you own the outcome, your work doesn’t disappear at the end of the week.

It stays, grows, and keeps working long after the effort was made.
