Providers:

Effective 1.1.24, MFTs and MHCs will be eligible for reimbursement from Medicare. As such, Medicare is now accepting applications for new providers.

**Beacon Health EAP Providers**

March 2020, Anthem completed the acquisition of Beacon Health Options. WellPoint Behavioral Health (Anthem EAP) and Beacon EAP will crossover, if you are presently contracted with either EAP panel. You should receive an amendment to the Participating EAP Practitioner Agreement reflecting changes.

January 1, 2021, you will have the opportunity to accept referrals from both Beacon and Anthem EAP members at the current Anthem EAP reimbursement rate, as outlined in the amended agreement. PLEASE NOTE: THESE CHANGES AFFECT ONLY YOUR EAP AGREEMENT.

IMPORTANT INFO: (1) December, you will receive a unique Beacon Provider ID. If you are a Clear Solutions billing client, please forward that info over to your billing manager. If you are not a billing client, then you will need to follow the instructions regarding the provider portal set up. (2) Initially there will be a transition period for payments, depending on whether your patient is a Beacon or Anthem member.

Updates are forthcoming and will be posted by Anthem and Beacon on the Provider Portals.

Ransomware threat targeting health care providers
November 2020

On October 28, the FBI, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) alerted the health care industry to an increased ransomware threat by criminals seeking to capitalize on the COVID-19 pandemic and U.S. elections.

We’re sharing this information with you to help you protect your group from these threats. These agencies recommend that providers and their office staff take the following precautions when using email:

Pay close attention to domain names, particularly those that seem suspicious, misleading, or misspelled.
Do not click on links or attachments from senders that they do not recognize, and be especially wary of .zip or other compressed or executable file types.
Do not provide sensitive personal information (like usernames and passwords) over email.
Be especially cautious when opening attachments or clicking links if they receive an email containing a warning banner indicating that it originated from an external source.
These agencies do not recommend paying ransoms, as payment does not guarantee files will be recovered. If you or your group becomes a victim of ransomware, CISA recommends that you respond by using the Ransomware Response Checklist, which can be found in the CISA and MS-ISAC's Joint Ransomware Guide. The checklist contains steps for detecting and eradicating ransomware.

We understand the importance of protecting the data we store on your behalf. Please know that this threat has not affected the way we do business with you, and that we will continue to review and enhance our cyber-security program to help prevent, detect, and respond to threats. As part of this program, we will continue to monitor the situation, and will communicate with you about new developments, as necessary.
