Meyersdale Middle School eighth grade students recently attended the Fifth Annual Agricultural Career Day. Hosted by Pennwood Farm, the event welcomed students from throughout Somerset County. Representatives from businesses/organizations in the region presented workshops on a wide variety of agricultural career paths.

Consign your items at the Stash-buster booth between 9 and 10; booth will open at 10. Fiber Friends will help you label and price your items, staff the booth, and complete transactions. Stop by at day’s end to pick up your $ or unsold items.

With the arrival of spring comes increased potential for wildfires. 🔥

Per state forest regulations, campfires and open burning are not allowed in PA state forests from March 1 through May 25. Please be careful with fire this spring (and always)!

State parks and state park campsites are unaffected by the burn ban.

Local fire department volunteers partnering with the local farming community to provide safety training in case of emergencies! It takes time and money to keep the community safe with up to date techniques and equipment.
You can help by donating to the Grain Bin Rescue Fund at Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.
