We recently shared an education blog post about mail check fraud, but we want to bring it to your attention again as we are seeing a trend, specifically alterations made by fraudsters on checks payable to CITICARD or CITIBANK. Criminals are "washing" these checks to change the payee and the amount, often attempting to steal thousands of dollars.

Tips to stay safe:

🔹 Go Electronic: Use Online Bill Pay, ACH transfers and your digital wallet. It’s the fastest and most secure way to pay.
🔹 Use Gel Ink: If you write a check, use a gel pen to prevent ink from being erased.
🔹 Deliver Securely: Take checks directly to the post office counter if you must mail them.

Solvay Bank is excited to be back for our 2026 Food Truck Season! We kicked things off at our Solvay branch yesterday with Via Napoli Express, enjoying awesome wood-fired pizzas right on-site. 🍕

To make sure everyone felt the love, our other branches joined in the fun by ordering lunch from their own local favorites! It was a delicious way to say thank you to our hardworking team and support our local business community.

Scammers are getting sophisticated. We are receiving reports of calls circulating that are "spoofing" local 315 numbers and using real employee names combined with public record information to try and gain access to your accounts.

If you receive a call or text “from” Solvay Bank looking to verify account transactions, login information, or referencing ACH, Wire, and SBA activity – please stay vigilant!

Remember to always:

🔹 Verify the Source. If you receive an unexpected call, hang up and dial our official line: 315-484-2201.
🔹 Keep Codes and Passwords Private. Never share Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) codes or passwords.
🔹 Don't Click. We will not send links via text to verify transactions.
