Great experience yesterday at the 9th Annual Reverse Tradeshow & Procurement Summit hosted by DeKalb County Government!

Kudos to the DeKalb First LSBE Program team for organizing such a dynamic and opportunity-filled event. The 5-minute speed networking sessions created a fast-paced, high-impact environment to connect directly with Purchasing & Contracting professionals and key department stakeholders.

These types of engagements are exactly what small businesses need—real access, real conversations, and real opportunities.

I had a fantastic opportunity this week to spend time with Cassia Baker, Dr. Michael Barker, and their incredible group of 25–30 students during the “CMMC for the Defense Industrial Base (DIB)” class at Georgia Tech’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP).

We walked through a mock CMMC Level 1 readiness assessment, giving the students a real-world look at how cybersecurity compliance conversations happen with companies that support federal agencies and the defense industrial base. The engagement and questions from the students were outstanding — it’s inspiring to see the next generation of leaders diving into cybersecurity and national security readiness.

A special thank you to Cassia and Michael for the invitation and for the work they’re doing to prepare students and businesses for the evolving cybersecurity landscape.

And yes… I arrived a little late thanks to my GPS deciding Midtown Atlanta needed a “scenic tour” first. 😄 Fortunately, the conversation was worth the extra miles.

Grateful for the experience and looking forward to continuing the CMMC journey for Greg Palmer, Inc.
