Losing dependent healthcare coverage may qualify you for a Marketplace Special Enrollment Period but the timing isn't the same for everyone. Your window and start date can depend on when your current coverage actually ends, when you apply, your state's rules, and whether the Marketplace needs proof of coverage loss.

Why not?
What could I actually owe?

Travel insurance can help with delayed bags, lost bags, and damaged belongings: up to your policy's limits, deductibles, and exclusions. (That designer bag won't reimburse at full price without receipts.)

If the airline loses or wrecks your luggage: file the report before you leave the airport, save the claim number and every email, keep receipts and photos.

Before you pay, ask your plan or pharmacist to actually compare. A different pharmacy might save you money or it might not. Check first, don't assume.

Freelance income makes Marketplace estimates feel like forecasting weather through a broken window. Here's the fix: Marketplace savings run off your projected annual income, not whatever hit your account last month.

Self-employed? Seasonal? Multiple gigs? Estimate honestly, update when things change. It all gets reconciled at tax time anyway, so guessing wrong just means dealing with it later instead of now.
