Earlier this week, June 15 was recognized as Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders shared a message reminding us how important it is to protect and support our elderly population.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has officially proclaimed June 15, 2026, as Arkansas Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Older Arkansans contribute so much to our communities through their wisdom, leadership, volunteerism, and service. This proclamation serves as an important reminder that every person deserves to be free from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment.

Arkansas banks are dedicated to fighting financial elder abuse fraud and continue their mission to raise awareness, encourage reporting, and help protect vulnerable adults across Arkansas.

COME CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF PATSY BOONE'S SERVICE WITH SMACKOVER STATE BANK!

While working at a local business, Patsy’s exceptional customer service was clear and she was asked to join Smackover State Bank. Starting out as a teller, she has worked her way to Vice President, giving 50 years of smiles and setting a high standard for service for deposit customers. With perfect accountability and great assistance, Patsy has served several generations of Smackover State Banks, helping grow deposits of all types from Saving and Checking to CDs and IRAs. While managing her career and working extra hours, she raised a fine family with two successful sons. Always looking out for her customers, Patsy takes extra care to make sure customers get FDIC coverage and works diligently to make sure account are available when they need to be and protected from scams which are so prevalent today.

To celebrate Patsy's 50 years of service, we are having a *surprise* party for Patsy this Friday, May 29th, at our Smackover branch from 1 to 3pm. We'd love to see you celebrate this remarkable woman!
