Sometimes the right people come into your life before you realize how much you need them.

I came into the office this morning to find this waiting for me from Toni for Boss's Day.

It made me think about how Toni has become the person I didn't know I needed in my life.

She keeps things moving, remembers the details, takes care of people, and somehow manages to make my life easier in ways I didn't even know it needed to be made easier.

Building a business is one thing. Finding people who care about what you're building and the people you serve is something else entirely.

Thank you, Toni. I may be the “boss,” but I am very grateful you're on this journey with me. ❤️

I love this part.

There's something satisfying about watching all the pieces come together before an event: the tables being set, materials going into place, the presentation ready to go, and all the little details finally checked off the list.

Then there's that quiet moment when everything is ready and you're just waiting for people to walk through the door.

I've always enjoyed bringing people together, and maybe it's the former teacher in me, but I still get excited about preparing a room and getting ready to welcome everyone. 😊

I've been a business owner for more than 20 years, and one thing hasn't changed: no two days look quite the same.

Some days you're working on the big-picture ideas that made you want to own a business in the first place.

Other days you're solving a technology problem, answering an unexpected question, rearranging a schedule, fixing something you didn't know was broken, or learning how to do something you never expected to need to know.

And occasionally, you actually get to do what was on your calendar. 😄

There's a lot I enjoy about entrepreneurship—but I think one of my favorite parts is that I'm still learning all the time.

I found this mushroom growing in my yard and had to take a picture. It looks almost too perfect to be real.
