We had the opportunity this year to do a very unique project. They have these in other parts of the country, but it’s a first for our area. We just completed the Bayou Oak food park, which is going to be a very nice facility in Kenner that’s going to have approximately 20 food trucks in one location. You ll be able to come and pick whatever you want to eat. There will be picnic tables and restrooms. Just a very nice project. Thanks Osvaldo for trusting us to get it done for you. I know I posted this last year, but I wanted to post it again as we head into storm season. BEWARE the blue roof scams. After any kind of a wind event, numerous companies will show up, offering to put a blue tarp to cover your roof damage and they will tell you your insurance will pay for it. But they want your insurance information and they make you sign a contract agreeing to let them put a new roof on your house if your insurance company agrees to it, and they negotiate the cost directly with your insurance company. I knew someone last year who I had quoted 15 K to put a new roof on their house, but an out of town roofing company came in , offered to negotiate directly with their insurance company, and ended up charging her insurance company 41,000 for the same roof.
I had another close friend who told another out of town contractor he would not give them his insurance information, but he did agree to pay them $1000 to put the blue roof on his house. He made a verbal agreement for that amount in front of four other people and didn’t sign anything. Now the same blue roof company has come up with a contract with his signature forged on the contract and is now trying to collect $7000 from him.
