Let it flow. 💦 Clean debris from gutters, drains and downspouts to let rain flow freely from the roof.
Trim the trees. 🌳 Prune lanky limbs and branches that could be likely to snap in a windstorm.
Check the sump pump. 🔌 If your home has a sump pump, test it to make sure it’s clean and operable.
Stow your gear. ⛱ When storms are forecasted, store patio furniture and other yard items that could become dangerous projectiles.
Secure storm shutters. 🔒 Close and secure shutters if your home has them.
Prepare an emergency kit. 🧰 If power outages are common in your area, prepare an emergency kit and keep it in an easy-to-grab location.
