Hear from Levo's fraud specialist, Gabriel as he explains impersonation scams on this week's What to Know Wednesday.

An impersonation scam is when someone contacts you, claiming to be someone they are not, and urges you to send funds. The fraudster can impersonate a variety of individuals, such as police officers, IRS agents, or family members.

Tips For Preventing Impersonation Scams:
• Stop and think first. Don't get rushed into making a decision.
• Verify the number calling you by hanging up and calling the number in a way you trust, such as from their website or your phone's contact.

If you believe you are a victim of an impersonation scam, stop communicating with the scammer. You should contact your financial institution and see what steps they recommend.

If you’re a Levo member and suspect you’ve recently been affected by fraud, contact our Service Center at 605-334-2471.

This fraud is not specific to Levo and is something that financial institutions across our region experience as well.

The O’Gorman Catholic Schools Foundation provides financial support for students across all eight Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools in Sioux Falls.

Levo is proud to continue supporting the foundation through a donation benefiting the 48th Annual Bob Burns Dakota Bowl, which was held on September 12, 2026. Funds raised through this event support all eight schools, their staff, student tuition, and technology.
