Uncommon. Today I close the book of my State Farm agency and a big chapter of my life. I am 52 years old and have worked with the leader in the insurance industry for almost 29 years. I have had success, failed, led a team to great heights, and stumbled terribly at times as a leader. Most of all I have grown in all areas that matter. This career has allowed me to serve others, help friends in need, assist my community in many ways, provide for my wife and children, and create meaningful and impactful jobs for my employees. I move on with a lot of joy in my heart for the lasting impact that we have made!
With being uncommon, comes questions. No, I am not sick. No, I didn’t know about the changes that State Farm is making with our agency system. No, I am not opening an independent agency. Yes, I do have 2 to 3 really nice options on the table for the use of my talents. I am planning to take the rest of 2026 and take a breath. Leading a business at a high level for decades, although has been fun, keeps a guy on point 24/7. I am looking forward to a trip in a couple of weeks to Canada without being tied to my email. It will be the first in a long time! Those that know me well, know that I don’t sit still. I have been vocal about “making an impact” and leading with a purpose and I plan to do just that.
Every great leader knows when the job is finished. I am blessed to have led a great team of amazing human beings and they all have landed in really good spots and opportunities. Thank you to my team, I love you all. My work is done here, and I left it in a better place than I found it. Excited for the next chapter and hope to see many of you around the bend!
