Here are some things to remember:

1. Build Positive Credit.

2. Keep Credit Utilization below 10%.

3. No Late Payments

4. No Hard Inquiries

5. If you decide to pay an account in collections which I do not recommend unless you get a good settlement amount and ask for a pay per delete. Meaning the collector agrees to delete the negative account after you pay. I do recommend getting this in writing.

6. Last but not least, please be sure to call the bureaus to remove any old addresses. You only need your current address on file.

Please note while in credit repair your credit scores will fluctuate, this is normal. Most importantly, follow the steps above while working to remove the negative accounts.

Please remember "The Ten Commandments" when applying for a mortgage:

1. Thou shall not change jobs or become self-employed.

2. Thou shall not buy a car, truck or van unless you plan to live in it.

3. Thou shall not use your credit cards or let your payments fall behind.

4. Thou shall not spend the money you have saved for your down payment.

5. Thou shall not buy furniture or appliances before you buy your house.

6. Thou shall not apply for any credit.

7. Thou shall not make any large deposits into your bank account.

8. Thou shall not change bank accounts.

9. Thou shall not co-sign for anyone.

10. Thou shall not purchase anything until after the loan closes.
