I'm a mortgage loan officer and veteran serving other veterans to help them get the benefits they've earned. A second-generation veteran, he honorably served our country as a medic in the Army from 1978-1981. His father served in WWII and was wounded in action during the Battle of the Bulge. an issues have long been his focus. He has been involved with our homeless populations, aware that more than 50,000 of our veterans are among their numbers. His other interests include hiking, foraging for wild foods, archery and shooting sports, gourmet cooking and ingredients, and playing jazz piano. He lives in Vancouver, WA with his lovely wife, Linda, and their lazy cat Bob. Although familiar with all mortgage products, his military service and desire to help fellow veterans with their goals of home ownership have made VA loans his primary focus. His years of active-duty service taught him the value of honor and integrity, and the drive to find solutions in the face of challenge. Navigating the Veteran’s Administration can be a daunting task to those who are unfamiliar. John is here to help with an in-depth knowledge of the ins and outs of VA loan entitlements. He is also versed in the benefits and grants available for qualified vets who have service-related disabilities, benefits which exist for home modifications to existing homes or new home construction, making those homes more accessible and functional, addressing the specific needs of the vet. Most veterans think they can only use their VA loan once. That’s not true.
With a one time restoration, you can pay off your original VA loan, keep the property, and use your VA benefit again to purchase a new primary residence.
That means you could turn your first home into a rental or second property and still buy another home with your VA loan.
This is one of the most powerful and least understood benefits available to veterans.

The Clark County Veterans Assistance Center at 907 Harney St., Vancouver, WA uses 250 mixed fruit cups each week, M-F, to feed needy and homeless veterans breakfast and lunch. You can help! Bring some to the Center, drop off at American Legion Post #14 at 4607 NE St. James Rd. or message me and I'll come get them from you! Hint: Costco has 20-unit boxes for pretty cheap. Help serve those who've served US. Thank You!

The Clark County Veterans Assistance Center is located at 907 Harney Street in Vancouver, Washington. They are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM. They serve 50 meals a day at breakfast and lunch to homeless and underserved veterans in need. With each meal they provide a shelf stable mixed fruit cup. This amounts to about 200 fruit cups each week and they are all donated. If you are able to donate, please contact me and I will either let you know where to bring them or I can pick them up myself.
