DON'T CROWD THE PLOW!!!
Slow down, leave at least 6-10 car lengths of space for safety. Plan travel times accordingly; it's better to arrive late than not at all.
DO NOT pass a snowplow; they often travel in groups, create low-visibility snow clouds, and can have large plows extending into other lanes.
If you cannot see the driver's mirrors, they cannot see you!!
DRIVE SAFE, NEW YORK!!!

🚨 STOP HITTING OUR PLOWS. 🚨 64 - That is how many times a vehicle has crashed into a NYSDOT snowplow so far this winter.

Let’s be clear. These are not “accidents.”

They happen because drivers are going too fast for conditions, following too closely, or trying to pass a more than 10-ton machine that is clearing the road for everyone else.

Every time a plow is hit:
• Lives are put at risk. Ours and yours.
• A plow is taken off the road for repair.
• Taxpayer dollars are wasted on damage that was preventable.

Our plow operators are out there in the worst conditions so others can get where they need to go safely. Slow down. Stay back. Let 64 be the final number.

Friendly PSA!
On Friday, February 13th, at 2PM, the DMV will have its offices and online services CLOSED and UNAVAILABLE until the following Wednesday, the 18th.

If you need to renew your license, vehicle registration, or update your ID, get it done! Don't let the inconvenience catch you at a bad time!
